Wa & the Bolgatanga Road

Wa palace is being renovated; army guys were nice but unwilling to let us in. Stayed in Tegbeer which was fine but argued about the room cost as we asked for non AC and they put us in AC (35 vs 45 Cedis), then they said kitchen would open 6.30am, no-one appeared until after 8am. Without a cook they could not make omelette so I ended up cooking. That meant nice omelettes for once 😉

Road Wa to Bolga was very good to Tumu (it is better in the dry season) after that it was cruel. Very good news is that some robbers were arrested in Aug and the problem is now resolved. It appears that the problem persists in the Techiman area though with local opinion being that Nigerians can get in for 90n days, so many come, perform robberies and go back before being caught.

Hello! My name is Arianna, writing from Italy. I only have 3 days off in Accra next week as I’m a flight attendant of Alitalia crew and had an idea of getting the Saturday STC bus from Accra to Wa, visiting the mud mosque and palace which you said is being renovating, and come back to Accra. But, most important of all, I need to find a bus back to Accra on Monday, as the following day I’m on duty on the plane back to Italy. Can you please help me if you know there is any kind of bus going to Accra on Mondays? Or maybe to Kumasi and from there I know there are many services to Accra.
Thank you so much if you would like to reply.
