In the new Bradt Ghana, I describe how ride-hailing apps Uber and Taxify have grown in popularity over the last few years, offering true rates without haggling with the drivers. Note, however, that in 2019, Taxify relaunched as Bolt; if you already had the app it will have automatically switched, and for now Bolt still comes up if you search for Taxify in your app store. In addition, the new Russian app Yango arrived in Ghana in June with a huge marketing push and discounted rates.
