Security in northern Ghana

We are currently traveling around Ghana and we really appreciate your detailed guide book from Bradt. Thanks for all the hints and information!

When we were traveling to Mole National Park, we decided to continue our trip to Wa Therefor, we had to take a trotro or a shared Taxi. On the road between Larabanga and Sawla armed robbery was taking place that day (attack on a coach). Luckily, we weren’t involved, but we saw one of the armed robbers and later on two women told us that robbery is occurring frequently on this road.

We think it is an important information so that other travelers know about the danger in this area.

Also, on the way from Wa to Kumasi (and Accra) the big coaches are escorted by the police. We didn’t read anything about such things in this area and would have appreciated to have this information while planning our trip.
