Hide Out Lodge, Butre

After an exhausting day of travelling from Bolgatanga in the north, we arrived in Takoradi where George from Hide Out Lodge picked us up at 11 p.m. After an adventurous ride we arrived at the Hide Out Lodge in Butre and George showed us our room. Actually we booked a different room, but this room closer to the beach wasn’t occupied, so he gave us a free upgrade.
The next day we woke up with the sound of the sea and after a delicious breakfast we made our plans for our last 7 nights in Ghana. We had the idea to visit Busua and Akosombo for our last week, but we were so impressed and were so happy here, so we decided to come back to the Hide Out Lodge in Butre after we visited Busua. We felt very welcome at the Hide Out and it is the best place to relax. The staff is very, very friendly and they offer a great service. The food is the best we had in Ghana (fresh lobster, homemade pineapple jam, tzatziki pite etc etc). We were lucky that we were with only 2 other guests, so it was very quiet. We enjoyed the sun and the beach and when the local youth tried to disturb you, the staff of Hide Out immediately told them to stay away. We have seen a lot of places in Ghana, but this one is definitely one of the best in Ghana!
