We’ve just come back from our trip in Ghana, which we really enjoyed. Your guidebook and updates have been really helpful although most of the prices have changed due to current exchange rate (for euro, about 4.4GHC / 1 euro).
In Accra, we found the Rising Phoenix Hotel in Usher absolutely rundown and with poor service. If you arrive on Saturday evening, try to exchange some cedis at the airport counter, as almost everything in closed on Sunday in Accra.
Moving around the Volta Region was a pleasure and crossing from Kpandu to Nkawkaw through the Afram Plains was possible in a single day trip.
In Cape Coast, the gramophone museum in the Cultural Centre is currently closed, they kindly told us they’re looking forward to reopen soon.
We payed 270GHC (about 60 euros) for an a/c taxi Elmina-Accra Airport, worth paying to avoid Accra crazy traffic jams and using 3 trotros or buses instead.
