We found your advice regarding the Sanaa Lodge in Cape Coast, Ghana to be very accurate even though we had a four year old edition of the guide. The renovations you mentioned are underway but the work seems to have stalled with some new flooring on the second floor. Otherwise, the hotel had only further declined in the last four years. We were the only guest at the hotel when we stayed there on Thursday night, July 17, 2014. Obviously a beautiful lodge when it was built, the Sanaa Lodge is old, tired, dirty, bent, cracked, and broken. It really does not deserve your “up market” category. Hope this helps.
