I would like to let you know about our new Guest House in the village of Aflesco, near Keta (Volta Region), on the white sands dividing the Atlantic Ocean from the Keta Lagoon.
We are located in a compound inside a fishermen village and the atmosphere is very familiar. In fact, we are two running the business, a Ghanaian and Italian couple. At the moment we can host 4 or 5 people, but we are still work in progress and there will be space from eight to ten people. The place is suitable for backpackers but also for families and it’s one hour form the Togolese border.
The huts are very comfortable with bamboo bed, mosquito net and fun. We prepare local and Italian food. Our specialities are pizza (we have our own oven) and pasta. The price is very affordable, 30 Ghc for the hut. We have electricity and showering bucket. We can also provide Internet connection. We can suggest many one-day tours and also organize a visit to the local shrines.
We made a choice to build a Guest House in a village because we want to offer a taste of how is life in a Ghanaian village, in the attempt to show a different aspect of this country. This idea comes from my involvement in a Charity, Ashanti Development. I run the Italian sister Association.
