Agoo Hostel, Accra

Helen McIntosh, Hostel Director, writes:
We are excited to tell you about our new Agoo Hostel in Accra, which opened its doors last year to a good reception with international volunteers, interns and travellers to Ghana in mind.
Agoo Hostel is centrally located in Accra in a quiet street just off Ring Road Central, convenient to transportation. Our staff is a blend of locals and ex-pats, all of whom have a lot of experience working in the hospitality industry and in particular with international volunteers and interns experiencing Ghana for the first time.
The Hostel has an upbeat, modern urban vibe with colourful, practical amenities. We welcome both the solo traveller and groups. There are 16 beds in 6 spacious rooms, some with access to large balconies; the 3 shared shower rooms are fresh and bright. There is a choice of social spaces – a large, airy, open-plan living/dining room, an outside chill-out balcony and a large garden area for guests to enjoy outside seating.
For those who want to cook for themselves, we offer a self-catering kitchen and barbeque. Alternatively, for those who don’t cook, we will provide delicious, prepared Ghanaian dishes upon request. Drinks – water, soft drinks and beer – and small local snacks are available throughout the day & evening for our guests.
We strongly believe everyone should enjoy a positive experience whenever they visit Ghana and are committed to ensuring that everyone feels welcome and secure during his or her stay at Agoo Hostel. It’s one reason we offer Accra orientation tours for guest to show them where to shop, take public transport and get around the city.
Customer service is important to us and we have had lots of positive feedback from our guests. A recent German guest wrote on our Facebook page:
I spent more than 2 weeks in Ghana and this hostel was the cleanest and most friendly place of all hostels I’ve seen. The rooms are furnished and decorated lovingly, the staff is very kind and helpful, the kitchen is big and well equipped, the balconies and common rooms invite to chill out… all this in a familiar atmosphere! Really a nice place to explore Accra!
We are still building our website, but please visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/AgooHostel for more information and photos of Agoo Hostel.
