News from Black Star Surf Shop, Busua

Peter Ansah of Black Star Surf Shop writes:

Black Star Surf Shop has seen some changes in the last few months . If you’ve ever wanted to learn to hang ten or weave the tube, then head to Ghana’s first, Black Star Surfshop (m 0269197812) (open every day from 7am – 7pm). And while hanging your toes on the nose may elude you in your first session, Black Star Surf shop, now 100% owned and operated by Busua locals, will ensure you have the correct techniques to put you in the right direction…(towards the beach!). Located right on the beach behind Dadson’s Lodge and next to Coconut Dream, the Surfshop offers a great chill spot for local and holiday making surfers, providing surf lessons from GHC35 for 11/2 hour with an additional hour’s practice. For the more advanced surfers the surfshop offers an array of short and longboards for rent, starting at C15/hour. Surf trips to one of the nearby spots, including picturesque Cape Three Points are available on request, so are bodyboards, snorkel gear and drumming lessons. The BS surf shop now also offers accommodation for those who want to indulge in the surf vibe. The two raffia huts are just above the surfshop opposite the magnificent Abokwa Island, and located perfectly to catch the sea breeze and check the surf from your pillow for GHC20 a night! Best regards, Peter Ansah
