Liz and Mustapha write:
Are you planning to visit Tamale in the Northern Region during your travels, maybe on route to Mole National Park? Or perhaps you are going there to work as a volunteer on a project? Instead of staying at an impersonal hotel/guest house, why not consider a ‘home stay’? We would love to welcome you into our home.
We live in a suburb of the city, just a 15min taxi ride away from the centre. Our bungalow is set in its own piece of land in a developing area near to the village of Sognaayilli. It is a quiet and friendly area.
The guest room is located outside our main living area, so you would have some privacy and it has its own toilet and shower. There is also a fully equipped kitchen which you would be welcome to use. A bicycle is available to rent as well. The guest room sleeps 3 easily (there is a double airbed and single mattress) but if you want to squeeze in other friends, let us know. There are electricity sockets and a fan in the room.
The room costs GHC 15 per person per night, and this includes breakfast (take away can be arranged if you are getting an early morning bus). We can arrange pick up and drop off with a reliable taxi driver if we are not available to accompany you ourselves.
Liz is British and has been coming to Ghana since 2007. She settled in Tamale with her husband in 2011. Prior to that they lived in Cape Coast. They have a lot of knowledge about Ghana and of course Tamale/the Northern Region. They would be happy to provide information and ideas to help make your trip/stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible. If you wish, they can also arrange drumming and dancing lessons for you. Actually, if there is anything in particular you want to do up here, do give us a call as we know a lot of people and would do our best to meet your needs.
If you would like further information or to book, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call Liz: tel. 00233262980167 or Mustapha: tel. 00233244849604.
We look forward to hearing from you!
