Planning a trip to Ghana in April, 2009. A must is being in Kumasi on Sunday, April 26th to attend the Akwasidaekese Festival. Akwasidae is a time when the chiefs in Ashanti come to Kumasi to pay homage to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Ashantehene. The last big-kese-event was held in 2004. It was truly a wondrous event taking place in the big football stadium. CNN was there covering the event which was a feast for the senses. Other events take place leading up the GRAND DURBAR on the 26th starting on Thursday the 23rd.
