Wa & the Bolgatanga Road

Posted: January 11, 2011 in Bolgatanga, Tumi, Wa

Wa palace is being renovated; army guys were nice but unwilling to let us in. Stayed in Tegbeer which was fine but argued about the room cost as we asked for non AC and they put us in AC (35 vs 45 Cedis), then they said kitchen would open 6.30am, no-one appeared until after 8am. Without a cook they could not make omelette so I ended up cooking. That meant nice omelettes for once ;-)

Road Wa to Bolga was very good to Tumu (it is better in the dry season) after that it was cruel. Very good news is that some robbers were arrested in Aug and the problem is now resolved. It appears that the problem persists in the Techiman area though with local opinion being that Nigerians can get in for 90n days, so many come, perform robberies and go back before being caught.
