Here’s a small message to update you on Mountain Paradise Lodge in Biakpa. I am sitting on the veranda of the place as I type. We are checking out a day earlier than we expected. We are volunteers living in a community off of Komenda junction for 1 year and have been travelling around Ghana for a few days to see some of the other regions. We arrived at Mountain Paradise and were delighted to find the magical setting. Unfortunately the service, food, accommodation and staff have let the place down.
We arrived at 12:00 and asked if we could have some food but we were told that we would have to wait till dinner time so we chose our dinner time meals then.
Then we went for a walk to the waterfalls for a swim. This is a paradise and worth the trek to get here and down to the falls. After our swim we returned to the house for dinner. We eat Ghanaian food most days and one of our party is now a Red red fanatic but the food here was well below the standard we have come to expect in Ghana.
Then we retired to our tents only to be kept awake by fellow guests on mobile phones till 02:00.
We woke in the morning to no water then were told by the surly chief that she was too busy to make a cup of tea for breakfast.
Now I have just paid my bill and been short changed by 1 Cedi.
